Final Unreal Environment

Final Ut4 Environment 1

DM_ARCH_1101_template_EXPc.ut2

Note: When in game play bots will appear, i had created a environment with out any bots in it, though when you download the map bots will appear. To fix this problem simply open up the command prompt list by pressing the ~ key next to the left of the space bar and then type in "killbots" with out any space's. This will kill them all and solve the bot issue.

Unreal Tournament 2 Draft Environments

Draft Ut4 Environment 1

DM_ARCH_1101_template_EXP1.ut2

This first draft environment is in very early stages yet i still have been able to develop some early stage ideas for my final environment. Also i have experimented with using some custom textures and also some diffrent types of lighting in the hope of finding lighting and textures which will suit the final model/environment best.

Draft Ut4 Environment 2

DM_ARCH_1101_template_EXP2.ut2
This is basically a further developed draft enviroment, added more lighting diffrent textures and furthing development in both of the clients offices.

Note to James

James, just reminding/letting you know about the issue regarding the use of SketchUp in this Exp. 3. I emailed you letting you know that i was able to create my features and all of my model in Ut and that i would not need the use of Sketch Up in this particular Exp. You replied to my email saying it was ok and was not a problem at all. Also u mentioned i should leave a note on my blog letting you know that this was discussed.

Final Unreal Tournament Environment (Image Captures)

This is a overview shot of the whole environment showing the two clients offices at each end of the bridge, this gives the notion of the two different worlds "Fashion" and "Technology" are at two different spectrum's. Also the lower platform which holds the mutual meeting point for both clients is visible about half way across the bridge.

This is a shot of the whole of the environment once again, though it is captured from Versace's office and gets a perspective on the bridge from her point of perspective view on the environment. Jobs office is not visible from this angle as it is behind the bridge. Though the elevator for Versace down to the lower platform with the meeting point and the actual meeting point its self are both visible.

This is a whole shot of Jobs office which show the stairs on the right of the office which lead down into the bridge, they lead down into the mutual elevator lobby where both Versace and Jobs can meet in order to travel down their individual elevators to meet in the actual meeting point with the dining table.

This is a interior shot of Jobs office. In this shot we can see the stairs which lead down into the interior of the office. The cube on the left of the image is my representation of technology. My interpretation of technology has always seemed to be some sort of square or box image, so i thought id incorporate my own view into Jobs office. This i believe gives the office more meaning with my own vision on technology incorporated into it rather then just creating a square building with stairs into it which could interpret the meaning of technology.

This is a below shot of the environment which shows the below of each clients office's and also the meeting point platform, where the two support beams which are holding up the lower platform connect to the actual platform.

This image shows my way of trying to incorporate the two "Technology" and "Fashion" worlds. The meaning of the lights running along the whole of the bridge are a virus.. which is usually related with technology. With the notion of this virus running all along the whole of the bridge it gives the idea that the two clients are now interconnected and are coming together.

Another overall view of the whole bridge, which en-captures the darker side of the bridge with the so called virus running along the whole of the bridge.

This shot shows the mutual elevator lobby which houses both of the clients individual elevators which are both visible in the image also. Underneath the elevator lobby is the mutual meeting point which has the dinning table located inside.

This is a overall shot of the elevator lobby, which shows the stair case which lead into the hallway which then leads into Versace's office. Also the entrance to her elevator is also visible to the left of the staircase.

This is another image of the elevator lobby which also shows the entrance to the staircase which takes you up to Jobs office. Also the incorporation of the 3 "T" we based our perspective sketches on have been added into the environment. I thought this would be a good idea to include into the environment seeing we spent a large amount of time on drawing perspective "T's".

This is a shot of the hallway which leads from Versace's office to the elevator lobby, the obvious purple colour was chosen due to the fact it was her favorite colour.

This is a my favorite shot out of all. This is a interior shot of Versace's office. The use of purple lighting is her favorite colour so i though it would be sensible to use her favorite colour in her office. The individual rings which i had used to create her office give the idea that in the fashion world you must always be open to new and fresh ideas in order to help create fashion. Also the rings signify how fashion always seems to go round and round, like how fashion of the 80s had become unfashionable.. and now it has once again become fashionable.

Once again this is another overall shot of the whole of the bridge with Jobs elevator in use and can be seen hovering above the lower platform which has the meeting point on it, and at either end the two clients offices.

(Mutual) Meeting Poing

I believe that the mutual meeting point in this model should be relived or stirped if you would like to say of any representation regarding each of the clients. I belive even if both of the clients representations or inspirations or even producsts are incorporated into the meeting place, no matter if equal amount of representation, inspirations or products are incorporated on boith clients behalfs one of thier inspirations, representations or products will stand out more the the other clients. This will then give the subtle but sure notion that one of the clients is of more importance. This is not what i want to incorporate or have happen in this "mutual" meeting point. This is a reason for choosing the red lighting in this location which is not of either of the clients chosen lighting scheme i have used thorought the environment. Also the beams on either side of the meeting point which are electric rays/beams are used in order to give the feeling of a greater power due to the two clients coming together in this meeting point.

Meeting Table (Versace and Jobs)

My tabel that i have come up with a designed is definatley diffrent from what i was orginally planning on producing, though i think this is a better design then i had originally intended for. I believe that this table can help in my idea of fashion and technology. Bascially my clients tabel is a representation of my model at a smaller scale. When i say its basically a representation i dont mean its my model scaled down. I have used the supporting beam sytructure of the tabel and tried to incorporate the idead that fashion and technology bothe need each other to sruvive and that they both support one another. What i mean by that is for eg. fashion needs technology such as sewing machines.. where are technology needs fashion to help a product look fashionable in order for it to sell these days. Who would pay a large amount of money for a piece of technology that is utterly discusting....? Therefore they both support and need each other to sruvive. Also the use of the squares and circles on the table tops, representing each of the clients also is how i used the table to represent my environment, because Jobs office is a square and Versace's is a circle.

Elevators (Jobs and Versace)

This is a outer shot of Jobs elevator which is currently up at the elevator lobby. You can also see the door which you must bump into to open which then slides up into the wall then allowing you to walk on to the elevator then travel down to the lower platform with the meeting point situated on it which is also visible in this image.

This is a image of the elevator door which opens when bumped into and raises up into the wall and allows you to walk onto the elevator.

This is the same image capture as above though this is with the door open and visible is the elevator which can be entered and will take you down to the lower situated platform where the mutual clients meeting point is located, housing the meeting table.

This is a shot of Jobs elevator in action. The elevator is moving down to the lower platform with the clients mutual meeting point. This is how Jobs will access the meeting point from the elevator lobby, which he accesses from his office down a set of stairs.

This is a image capture of Versace's elevator which is located next to the staircase which leads into her hallway, which then leads to her office. The obvious colour purple was once again chosen due to it being her favorite colour.

This is the view form the lower platform which is housing the meeting point, it shows the underside of the elevator lobby and also Versace's elevator shaft which the actual elevator travels up and down.

Draft Environment 1

Draft image 1 is a shot of the view form the top of the stair entrance which shows the long staircase down in the the elevator lobby where there will be two shafts which lead down to a lower platform where the mutual meeting point will be located.

Draft image two is a image capture of the stair meeting the elevator lobby where the two individual clients elevator shafts are located, which will take them down to a below platform intended to have the mutual meeting point. Where the two clients Donetella Versace and Steve Jobs come to meet and sit at the meeting table.

Draft image 3 is a image of the possible colour variations used in the enviroment, which could be used to represent each of the two clients. For example in Versaces section the colour blue could be used and in Steve Jobs section the colour red could be used for his sections.

Draft image 4 is a shot of the overall elevator lobby where the two individual elevator shafts can lead down to the lowe platform where the mutual meeting point with meeting table will be located.

Draft Environment 2

Draft image 5 is a captured image of the UT environment in a more developed stage. It shows that have started developing the two clients offices and they at each end of the bridge. Also the lower platform which is shown below the bridge is where the mutual meeting point will be located. There will be two seperate elevator shafts running down to the lower platform where the meeting point will be located so as for the two clients can access it at individual times. The mutual meeting point is under developed at this stage.

In draft image 6, i have captured these indentations into the bridge which are illuminated. These have been used to help signify the notion of the two worlds "Fashion" and "Technology" integrating and joining together.

Draft image 7 is more or less another over view of the the UT environment, it is more developed then the first draft images.. it more or less shows what it might look like from the lower platform point of view, which the meeting point will be situated for both clients to meet at the table.

Draft image 8 is a overview of the development in the Steve Jobs. The use of cubes and flat surfaces are used in order to represent the clients products such as the ipod and the mac book laptops, seeing that they are very slim, which is represented in the two level platforms in the image above.

Inspitation and Ideas for both Versace and Jobs

These are some inspirational forms and shapes which have helped with the process of creating a office space's for both Donetella's Versace and Steve Jobs. As i'am basing the principle of "Fashion" vs "Technology" i am trying to focus on having the two offices at a completeley different spectrum to each other. Steve Jobs being the technology side of it would be a more solid form which could be a square, rectangle some form of solid shape. With the fashion side of things i was planning on creating a wavy form or sphere which is the opposite to a form like the square shape or rectangle shaped used for Steve Jobs. With incorporating this Wavy or spherical form opposite to solid form the notion of "Fashion" vs "Technology" can be incorporated and into exp. 3 and as a result become alot easier to comprehend or understand the fact that these two clients are at a totally different spectrum to one another.

One of my first ideas which i had come up with my tutor was a simple idea... very simple! But was it doable? The idea i had come up with was to create a wall out of square... basically the above showen mocaic would become the wall. What was going to be done was have each product cut up one by one in photoshop then converted to .TGA file which is supported by ut4 and could be imported as a texture. One problem came across in attempting to create this mosaic wall which was the reason i gave up in attempting to create it. This problem was when importing the converted file into a .TGA file you have to make the file equal multiples on each side of it, this means that a file will only be imported into ut if the size of it is for eg. 256 x 256 or 512 x 512. A file with the multiples of say 128 x 200 would not be accepted into ut. Now mentioning that converting the images and resising them to be of equal multiples was not a problem, though in doing so the image files them selves had been distored because they were either rectangular or they were to small and were scaled up and the image was blured. This was the problem with this idea and as a reslut in this issue arising i had given up on the idea. Would of been a very interesting environment if i had made it.

18 One and Two Point Perspectives

18 One Point Perspectives

These are my 18 one point perspectives. We were asked to come up with 6 different individual perspective drawings, then form them 6 individual perspective we were then asked to create another two perspectives for each 6. These 2 extra perspectives were either to be a above perspective or a below perspective. After creating a further two perspective views for each of the 6 indiividual perspectives we had come up with 18 one point perspectives which are grouped accordingly in their own groups above.

18 Two Point Perspectives

These are my 18 two point perspectives. We were asked to come up with 6 different individual perspective drawings, then form them 6 individual perspective we were then asked to create another two perspectives for each 6. These 2 extra perspectives were either to be a above perspective or a below perspective. After creating a further two perspective views for each of the 6 indiividual perspectives we had come up with 18 two point perspectives which are grouped accordingly in their own groups above.

36 Custom Textures

We were asked in creating 6 groups of 6 different custom textures, which involved in using the 3 given words which were Linear, Circular and also Scalar. Then we were asked in coming up with 3 of our own chosen words that we wished in using to help/decide in our final 3 groups of 6. My 3 personal chosen words were wavy, Triangular and Jagged. All 6 groups are displayed above in their own groups which have been labeled accordingly with text. With each of the different groups i basically drew what the words of each group represented to me as i sketched them. For e.g. Circular was basically anything that was round or gave the expression that it traveled in a circular motion, this was implemented into each of the different groups.

Exp.3 Self Mark Sheets (Final and Draft Student Marks)

Exp.3 Self Mark Sheets (Final)

These are my two final exp. self marking sheets. I have chosen two of my class students in my final marking sheets apposed to my draft ones where i had chosen two other students from another class.

Exp.3 Self Mark Sheets (Draft)

With the self critic assessment marking sheets we were asked to choose 2 students blogs and mark their current stage of Exp.3. I had chosen Nick and John because i have followed their progress over a little period of time watching them develop their UT4 exp.3 model and i found them to be interesting and visually interesting. Above are the mark sheets which i have filled in as accordingly as i thought would suit the current stage of work they were at and have produced.

My Planned View on Exp. 3

Well in exp. 3 we are to choose 2 out of the 3 given clients.. which are Steve Jobs, Donetella Versace and also Zanh Ying. We are to create a office/space for each of the 2 chosen clients either above each other or we are able to have them at opposite to each other on each end of the "bridge". I have chosen to work with the clients Donetella Versace and also Steve Jobs. My hope in choosing these two clients will that i will be able to work on the idea of "Fashion vs Technology" which i think has always been a on going battle between the two worlds. I think that this exp. will be a great opportunity to be able to weave these two different worlds into one using the mutual meeting point intended to be in the middle of each office/spaces. I have opted to have the two clients office/spaces opposite each other at each end of the bridge.. that way the notion of one beeing greater then the other is not implemented, which will make it easier to comprehend the two worlds coming together in the meeting point.

Electroagregation MashUP

Late last year, Forbes magazine named Zhang the wealthiest woman in China. She may even be the richest self-made woman in the world, challenging a handful of others, like Donatella Versace, who started the Italian clothing company. If that sounds over the top, Ms. Versace has looked at over-the-top through the rearview mirror since the mid-1970s, when Apple's head of marketing, Phil Schiller, is the most relaxed. Now that spring has at least officially arrived China's own paper products are poor quality, often made from grass, bamboo or rice stalks. Most paper made in the United States and Europe is derived from wood pulp. When I saw Jobs introducing the iPod Hi-Fi at Apple's headquarters in late February, about five months ago, it looked to me like he was tiring quickly and was glad to get it over. “I love matched luggage,” he said, since then, shares of Nine Dragons have quadrupled, giving the company a market value of more than US$ 5 billion. “So much time and work goes into making iPod’s. I want the Hi-Fi to be cared for.” No other U.S. company sends so much material to China, in as many containers, as America Chung Nam, which was named the top U.S. exporter to China by volume for the fifth consecutive year in 2005, according to Donatella Versace. In case you were wondering, she doesn’t have a good time at a bad movie, forcing cheers at unlikely points. Purple, she noted, “is one of my favorite colors.”
