3 Model Animations

Animation 1. Above Ground

This video circulates around the above ground showing the stair case and also the swinging around past Nolan's headquarters then continues on around past the mutual meeting point which juts though the ground then back around to the front showing the stairs once again.

Animation 2. Below Ground

This video shows the glass staircase starting from the mutual meeting point moving on down the staircase, then sinking down to the platform which leads into Swallows headquarters with his art work being showcased.

Animation 3. Whole Model

This video shows the whole of the model both above ground and below ground. I have removed all of the earth surface and only left the whole actual model to show how it all interconnects, starting from Nolan's headquarters traveling down the stairs to the mutual meeting point, down the glass staircase showing how the platform leads to Swallows headquarters.

Final Sketch up Model and Draft Models

ABOVE GROUND

Chosen artists and word for above ground is Sydney Nolan and the word is "Traveling". I chose to portray the traveling in the above half by creating a set of stairs which seem to travel alot longer to get to a point then is necessary, hence causing the person to do alot more "TRAVELING", leading you to Sydney Nolans headquarters.

BELOW GROUND

The artist and word chosen for below ground is Ricky Swallow and the word is "Sinking". I chose to portray sinking as more of a straight forward and elegant way to travel. I believe that sinking it is not a always chosen form of getting to a place, but it still is a way of getting to a place. I chose to give it a bit of elegance and make it seem though it was enjoyable by having glass cases imposed together to create a sinking staircase, which ends up at the bottom of a ramp leading to Ricky Swallows headquarters.

36 Custom Material Textures

36 Custom textures involved us grouping up into groups of 3 or 4 students and brainstorm 36 possible texture names. After coming up with 36 names we then had to go about drawing what we thought the word could of possibly mean to us.

18 Sketch Drawings

18 hand drawn sketches, we were to choose 3 art works from Sydney Nolan Patricia Piccinni and also Ricky Swallow. After allocating a verb, noun and adjective for each of the artists art works we had to choose either a verb, noun or adjective and come up with a 18 sketches portraying our thoughts on what the words meant to us as we sketched them.
